Stop looking at statcards that are wrong in 80%. There is no excuse its not using its full snap-off and G potential.ħF is wrong on so many levels in WT, its disgusting. 7F is far better in that regard as its boost is longer and have sustain. Missiles speed is not a constant but changing parametre which depends on launch conditions, 7E is capable of mach 4 flight only at high alts and high launch speeds. 7F have around mach 4 speed at high alt which slowly drops down with sustain motor which is capable to keep it at decent mach speed (the one at statcar, not short range max speed from boost stage, if its modeled at all as we dont see change of stages as it should). Both of them have same speed initially exept 7F keeps it for longer due to sustain stage. They again used wrong numbers as 2.9 is either max speed at low alt or when sustain motor kicks in (7E2 is way slower at that moment) meanwhile 7Es 4mach is high alt max speed. I just mean, the AIM-7F is slower and heavier than the E-2, so naturally it is worse at dogfighting.īoost stage delivers more speed due to longer burn time, nearly double the time of 7E so it gets to approx same speed. I also use the MLD and only have this problem occasionally. From the look of it others are experiencing the exact same problem.
I'm watching YouTube vids of CC's locking enemies from like 30km away and hold radar lock until the point they fire their missile at around 10km. IF I'm finally able to lock an enemy, I launch my 7E and it starts tracking for a few seconds, when the missile is about 1-3km away, my radar loses lock and the missile just explodes. I try to change radar target lock to the enemy, same thing happens.
The little green box either pops up in an empty section of the sky and locks nothing or it locks a friendly. I aim at my would be target and try to lock. Here's what happens when I try to lock an enemy anywhere around 10-15km: I've tried every single radar setting in all the different settings/modes, still no luck. Out of about 20 games I totaled 2 kills with the new sparrows. Then, I tried using them for the first time and was incredibly disappointed. I was SO excited to finally unlock the J and new Aim7s.
